2010 IITT Award Success
10/2/2010

Afiniti celebrate another successful year at the annual Institute of IT Training (IITT) Awards 2010 after scooping the Bronze award for Training Company of the Year and winning Gold in the External Training Project of the Year category.  This year the event took place in the Dorchester in London on 4 February where hundreds of IT Training professionals gathered for the prestigious award ceremony to recognise and celebrate outstanding examples of high standards, best practice, innovation and excellence across the IT Training industry.

Delight with Training Company award recognition
2009 was an extremely challenging year for Afiniti reflecting a common story across the training sector.  The Directors took early decisions in the year to ensure that the company was performing efficiently with costs being managed closely.  The Judges specifically complimented Afiniti on this achievement and that it was implemented in full recognition of the need to continue to develop our people and deliver professional services to our clients. Afiniti impressed the Judges with client endorsed testimonials for the delivery of a diverse range of learning initiatives from bespoke application training, managed services, large-scale IT implementations through to project management and communications and user engagement.  The judges complimented Afiniti’s investment in a new training evaluation assessment tool to analyse ‘performance change’ rather than just ‘learning’, truly demonstrating to our clients the real value and benefit of their investment in training.

The winning formula to delivering successful projects
Afiniti were delighted to receive Gold for External Project of the Year with Network Rail for our involvement in the training and implementation of a bespoke system to manage rail defects.  The RDMS project implemented a new safety critical system to be used by rail workers throughout the UK to manage suspected and actual rail defects on Britain’s railways.  The business objective was to pull together several reporting systems and roles to provide one way of working through one standardised system.  Afiniti’s role in the project was to manage the business change with an effective engagement and training solution which included the training of 1300 delegates over 60 locations.  The IITT Judges were “especially impressed at the way Afiniti carried out the requirements definition and developed a solution that was specifically aligned to Network Rail’s real requirements and needs.” The Judges highlighted that “The project, which used highly distinctive branding, was managed extremely well; it was completed on time and within budget despite significant changes within the client organisation in the early stages of the project.”

“We are very proud of our achievements in the IITT awards this year adding to our previous success which includes a Silver for Company of the Year, Bronze in the Trainer category and three times winners of External Project of the Year.  We continue to see such awards as a cornerstone of the testimony to the high value and quality of our services and products.  In the current challenging economic climate, we believe that being judged best in our field is the surest way of ensuring our future success.  Preparing a submission for an award demands a good deal of skill and effort but the process itself is both inspiring and invigorating in helping us qualify and quantify the great things we have done in the year and it is fantastic to gain the full support of our clients in the endorsement of our successes.” Corrina Jorgensen, Managing Director commented.
